Bio:
BARBARA HIBSCHMAN is a popular conference and
retreat speaker for women's events, churches,
college and seminary chapel services,
educational conferences, and seminars in the
United States and abroad.
Barbara's experiences as a pastor's wife,
mother, grandmother, public and private school
teacher, and 6 years of missionary service in
the Philippines, provide her with a colorful and
humorous background to communicate God's love
and faithfulness. She holds a Master of
Education degree from Northeastern Illinois
State University, and her teaching gifts
continue to be used in Christian ministry
conventions, missions and writer's conferences.
Barbara is the author of 8 books, hundreds of
magazine articles, and a contributing author to
14 inspirational books. In 1992, she received
the "Writer of the Year" award from the Greater
Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference.
Besides teaching at a college in the Philippines, Barbara
and her husband, Jim, have served in various cross-cultural
ministries. For 8 years they were a pastoral-care couple
for missionaries serving in Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and one
"creative access" country in Central Asia. Most recently,
they were the lead-pastor couple at an international church
in Cairo, Egypt. They returned to Ohio in August, 2011.
Together, they team-teach at missions conferences, Perspectives
on the World Christian Movement classes, and frequently
speak for Marriage Enrichment retreats. They are the parents
of 2 grown children, and grandparents to 4 of the cutest kids
on the planet!
