Bio: Credentials & Books

Ellie is a best-selling author and founder of SHOP, SAVE, & SHARE SEMINARS. The seminar was made into a film by the Air Force Aid Society for international distribution, and is currently available at 120 Air Force bases worldwide. In addition to contributions to a dozen other compilation books, she has published/contracted the following solo titles:

Education and Awards

  • President Bush issued a Presidential Initiative for the distribution of “Heroes at Home” to military families
  • Ellie’s book, Heroes at Home, was a finalist in the 2003 Gold Medallion Book Awards.
  • Ellie is a 1993 graduate of Colorado Christian University with a B.S. degree in the Management of Human Resources.
  • She was one of a handful of Air Force Spouses who graduated from the “Master Trainer” program with Army Family Team Building training.
  • In 1999 she received the Army’s highest civilian medal, the Dr. Mary E. Walker Award for outstanding dedication to improving the quality of life for soldiers and their families. She is the first Air Force spouse to be decorated with this medal, which required a four-star General’s waiver.
  • She is also the recipient of the 1999 Commander’s Award for Public Service, USA, for “selfless service and dedication in keeping with the finest traditions of the 10 th Mountain Division.”
  • With over 10,000 volunteer hours to her credit, she is the recipient of dozens of local volunteer awards.

Career Highlights:

Television

Ellie is regular guest on the international show, CNBC’s #1 rated “Power Lunch.” She has worked with producers from The Today Show, The Ananda Lewis Show and Nickelodean. Ellie’s diverse abilities include the writing of a four-hour video product for “Life Today.” It showcased Ellie’s abilities as a platform speaker, on location reporter, interviewer and talk show host. In 2002--2004 she was featured as the financial expert on a reality TV series called Simplify Your Life as well as an appearance on Dr. Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power. A few of Ellie’s many television appearances include:

Despite a rigorous schedule, Ellie maintains her family as highest priority. She is married to Bob Kay, a test pilot with over 20 years experience. The Kay’s school-aged children include: Daniel, Philip, Bethany, Jonathan, and Joshua and their adult children include Amanda and Melissa
