Lucinda Secrest McDowell
Bio:
Lucinda Secrest
McDowell is a storyteller at heart who
brings wit, wisdom and the "wow" factor to any
event. A respected international conference
speaker and author who has written for fifty
different magazines, collaborated on twenty
books and authored seven of her own, Cindy
encourages both women and men to live
transformed lives in God's grace and hope. In
addition to her newest book Spa for
the Soul ~ Rejuvenate Your Inner Life,
Cindy has also written Quilts From
Heaven, Amazed by
Grace, What We've
Learned So Far,
Women's Spiritual Passages and
A Southern-Style Christmas,
earning Mt. Hermon's Writer of the Year Award.
She holds degrees from Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary and Furman University and
also studied at the Wheaton Graduate School of
Communication.
With a
ministry called "Encouraging Words
that Transform!" Cindy is
particularly energized by interacting
with people and helping bring God's
faithfulness alive through innovative
presentations. She is especially excited
these days to help other women discover
their unique roles in God's kingdom and
perhaps beginning rewriting the script
of their life stories to include new
challenges and daring adventures. Cindy
is privileged to have had a variety of
life experiences such as radio producer
and broadcaster, editor and journalist
for two international conventions and
she has directed women's ministries,
pastoral care and missions at churches
in both California and Connecticut.
A
Southerner by birth, Cindy enjoys being
a wife and mother of four and is
currently living in New England. In
addition to a good massage and soul
nurturing, a few of her favorite things
are tea parties, letters on fine
stationery, cozy quilts, good books,
country music, bright colors and
laughing friends
